Macrame Curtain Tiebacks with Tassels
Step-by-step instruction and scheme
This Macrame Curtain Tiebacks are very easy to make and will give your curtains a real designer look.
To make two Curtain Tiebacks approximately 25 inches long each, you will need two long cords about 2 yards (1,8 meters) long, two medium (7 inches) and 40 short (4-6 inches) cords for 4 tassels.
1. Make two Sennit Chains (or Caterpillar Chains) with the long cords. Leave about 5 inches of cord from both ends – we will need them to attach the tassels.
2. Then make two pairs of simple tassels. This is the easiest way to make a tassel. Take 10 short cords and tie a simple overhand knot to secure the medium cord to the bundle.
Fold the bundle of strands in half. Take both ends of the medium cord and make one or two Double Half Hitches around the bundle, underneath the fold. You can glue the knot from behind and then cut off the excess cords so that the tassel looks neat.
3. Attach the tassels to the ends of both Sennit Chains. Your Curtain Tiebacks are ready! You can decorate them with beads if you wish.
